Base Salary
$125k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and improve deployment processes, including serialized gated deploys, automated schema migrations with rollback, and staging-to-production promotion.
- Build reliable local, remote, sandbox, preview, and review environments that improve environment parity and developer productivity.
- Develop agent-first infrastructure, including MCP gateways, governance, cost management, and foundation-model selection.
- Establish infrastructure-as-code standards, remediate drift, and help consolidate infrastructure from DigitalOcean to AWS.
- Create repository standards, ownership registries, internal developer portals, and idempotent onboarding workflows.
- Build observability foundations covering tracing, logging, metrics, Datadog cost and hygiene, incident management, and status pages.
- Improve secrets and configuration management, SSO, IAM scoping, ECR scanning, audit logging, and vulnerability management.
- Build and host internal tools through Numeric Labs without requiring teams to independently solve authentication, hosting, and observability.
- Partner directly with engineers and other contributors to identify friction and deliver practical developer-experience improvements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience, including significant experience in infrastructure, platform, or developer-productivity work.
- Strong infrastructure experience with AWS, containers/ECS, networking, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Confidence with Terraform/OpenTofu, CI/CD systems, and Linux/container fundamentals.
- Strong general-purpose programming skills, primarily in TypeScript, with Python where appropriate.
- A product-builder mindset focused on developer experience, sensible defaults, and seeing shipped work operate successfully.
- Preferred experience with Spacelift, Atlantis, Datadog, Firetiger, Chronosphere, GitHub Actions, or Buildkite.
- Preferred experience running incident management, defining SLAs, maintaining sites under heavy traffic, and supporting non-engineer contributors.
