Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve scalable Java backend services, APIs, data models, and customer experiences.
- Own backend service lifecycles from design and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, optimization, and incident resolution.
- Collaborate with product, design, and partner engineering teams to translate requirements into robust solutions and reusable integrations.
- Improve service performance, reliability, observability, scalability, and operational health across high-traffic air marketplace systems.
- Use experimentation, analytics, and data-driven approaches to validate hypotheses and guide technical and product decisions.
- Integrate AI/ML-enabled capabilities and apply AI-driven tools responsibly for development, testing, code quality, and operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience building and operating production backend or full-stack software services.
- Substantial hands-on experience with Java and software engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, system design, API design, and data modeling.
- Experience designing and evolving backend architectures, service integrations, and well-structured APIs and data models.
- Experience with backend web technologies, service architectures, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with performance tuning, resilience hardening, observability, alerting, on-call or incident response, experimentation, analytics, and AI/ML-enabled backend capabilities.
