Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify platform scalability requirements related to user growth and increasing data volume.
- Design and roll out monitoring best practices in Datadog, including SLI, SLO, and SLA practices.
- Research and implement service and storage improvements using serverless technologies.
- Optimize services, CI/CD automation, scalability, cost, and performance.
- Develop and maintain internal tooling for monitoring, developer portals, and load testing.
- Create reusable and unified building blocks that help development teams improve scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Design and implement infrastructure autoscaling best practices.
- Run chaos-engineering experiments to improve service resilience.
- Mentor and educate software development teams on DevOps practices.
Requirements
- Multiple years of experience with AWS and infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
- Solid experience with monitoring, container orchestration, and microservice environments.
- Good working knowledge of Python, plus at least one additional general-purpose programming language, preferably Java, Kotlin, or JavaScript/Node.js.
- Strong understanding of scalable system design, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.
- Experience with GitHub Actions and Jenkins is beneficial.
- A relevant degree in computer science, engineering, or sciences, or work experience in a role that typically requires a university degree.
- Full professional proficiency in English and the ability to communicate concisely in an international English-speaking environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Passion for automation, process improvement, and collaboration with development teams.
