Base Salary
$145k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Rapidly develop software prototypes, proof-of-concepts, lightweight applications, services, scripts, and interfaces.
- Translate ambiguous mission and customer requirements into working technical solutions and minimum viable products.
- Build data ingestion, transformation, normalization, enrichment, and reusable data workflows from structured and unstructured sources.
- Integrate APIs, databases, files, feeds, AI models, LLMs, embeddings, RAG, information retrieval, and AI agents into prototypes.
- Develop evaluation methods, monitor pipelines, troubleshoot data quality issues, and identify technical risks and dependencies.
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, AI teams, product managers, mission experts, and government customers.
- Document prototype architecture, functionality, technical decisions, capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs.
- Support demonstrations, testing, experimentation, deployment, and productionization of successful prototypes in secure or classified environments.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with a Counterintelligence or Lifestyle Polygraph.
- At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, application development, or a related technical field.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong experience with C++, Python, Java, SQL, and equivalent programming skills.
- Experience integrating APIs and multiple data sources and rapidly developing software prototypes or proof-of-concepts.
- Strong software development fundamentals, problem-solving, debugging, independent decision-making, and ability to learn unfamiliar technologies.
- Preferred experience supporting the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community and developing government or national security applications.
- Preferred experience with AI/ML or LLM-powered applications, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, NLP, information retrieval, AI agents, and tool-calling workflows.
- Preferred experience with modern web application development, FastAPI, Flask, React, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- Preferred experience working in classified, secure, or air-gapped environments and taking prototypes into production.
- Ability to obtain and maintain additional security clearance accesses to Special Access Programs or Access Compensatory Control Measures.
