Responsibilities
- Evolve infrastructure solutions addressing reliability, latency, bandwidth, and security for a distributed financial platform.
- Improve observability, monitoring, and alerting throughout the platform.
- Coordinate work across different areas of the company to improve execution efficiency.
- Centralize duplicated work across developer teams where possible.
- Build scalable tooling to replace manual and repetitive work.
- Guide and educate developer teams on delivering features rapidly, securely, and scalably.
Requirements
- Experience with containerization and service orchestration, including related best practices and security.
- Strong knowledge of at least one programming language.
- Knowledge of Linux, including resource allocation, networking, and system internals.
- Experience with cloud solutions such as GCP or AWS.
- Deep understanding and demonstrable experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana, and Telegraf.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools and configuration management tools.
- Experience using GitOps and CI to make changes, preferably with GitHub Actions.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka.
- Experience with database management.
- Experience working in data centers is a plus.
- Knowledge of routing and switching protocols is a plus.
- Experience with HashiCorp Nomad, Consul, Vault, Golang, Python, Bash, complex Terraform deployments, or SaltStack is a plus.
