Base Salary

$150k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

Design and develop real-time C++ control code for robotic arms, emphasizing torque control and low impedance.
Build model-based planning and control components, including trajectory optimization, inverse dynamics, and whole-arm motion control.
Develop real-time state estimation by fusing encoders, torque sensors, force-torque sensors, and IMUs.
Own controller performance end to end through simulation validation, hardware bring-up, tuning, and regression testing.
Design scalable solutions integrating with Autonomy, Hardware, and Testing systems.
Work with manufacturing operators, mechanical engineers, robotics researchers, and software engineers to build production robotic assembly systems.

5+ years of experience implementing optimization-based multi-DOF control algorithms on real robotic systems.
Experience building state estimation solutions using techniques such as EKFs, Particle Filters, and Factor Graphs.
Experience with encoders, torque sensors, force-torque sensors, IMUs, and sensor fusion.
Deep understanding of spatial kinematics, dynamics, and related mathematical concepts.
Proven experience iterating on complex multi-DOF systems, especially torque control and low impedance.
Fluency in modern C++ and Python.
Additional qualifications include MPC or receding-horizon control on real systems.
Experience with contact-rich manipulation, grasping, or force-controlled assembly is preferred.
Experience with rigid-body dynamics libraries such as Pinocchio, Drake, or MuJoCo and optimization solvers is preferred.
Experience with ROS 2 and real-time Linux is preferred.
Experience applying machine learning to control or state estimation, including learned dynamics models, residual policies, or imitation learning, is preferred.
