Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and develop real-time C++ control code for robotic arms, emphasizing torque control and low impedance.
- Build model-based planning and control components including trajectory optimization, inverse dynamics, and whole-arm motion control.
- Develop real-time state estimation by fusing encoders, torque sensors, force-torque sensors, and IMUs.
- Own controller performance from simulation validation through hardware bring-up, tuning, and regression testing.
- Design scalable solutions integrated with Autonomy, Hardware, and Testing systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience implementing optimization-based multi-DOF control algorithms on real robotic systems.
- Experience building state estimation solutions such as extended or unscented Kalman filters, particle filters, and factor graphs.
- Experience with encoders, torque sensors, force-torque sensors, IMUs, and sensor fusion.
- Deep understanding of spatial kinematics, dynamics, and related mathematical concepts.
- Proven experience iterating on complex multi-DOF systems with an emphasis on torque control and low impedance.
- Fluency in modern C++ and Python.
- Experience with MPC or receding-horizon control on real systems is an additional qualification.
- Experience with contact-rich manipulation, grasping, or force-controlled assembly is an additional qualification.
- Experience with rigid-body dynamics libraries such as Pinocchio, Drake, or MuJoCo and optimization solvers is an additional qualification.
- Experience with ROS 2 and real-time Linux is an additional qualification.
- Experience applying machine learning to control or state estimation is an additional qualification.
