Base Salary
$175k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build new machine learning systems, close data gaps, and maintain and improve existing ML pipelines.
- Implement machine learning research papers and run training experiments to benchmark alternative architectures against production models.
- Stand up and manage ML infrastructure, including infrastructure such as Redis clusters.
- Contribute to architecture and statistical methodology decisions across engineering teams.
- Help define Thrive Market’s long-term search and discovery strategy in light of large language models.
- Present model results, roadmaps, and business and revenue impact to broad or executive audiences.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of machine learning engineering experience spanning MLOps and research-oriented work, with principal-level impact from research through production and business presentation.
- Hands-on experience reading and implementing machine learning papers and evaluating new model architectures against production baselines.
- Experience building and operating ML infrastructure and pipelines, such as Redis clusters.
- Experience with or an informed perspective on search and discovery systems and the impact of large language models.
- Ability to drive cross-functional work and debate architecture and statistical methodology across teams.
- Experience presenting technical results and roadmaps, including business and revenue impact, to broad or executive audiences.
- Preferred experience with search, personalization, recommendations, ranking, or lifecycle modeling.
- Preferred experience with MLOps practices including model versioning, monitoring, and operating models in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
- Preferred experience in e-commerce, marketplace, or subscription-based businesses.
- Preferred experience defining metrics, experimentation frameworks, or production model-performance monitoring and influencing standards or strategy across teams.
