Base Salary
$225k - $305k/yr
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical authority for the Study Lifecycle and Process Execution teams.
- Independently architect and implement solutions to complex problems for scientific workflows.
- Lead large, multi-quarter initiatives by breaking down ambiguous requirements into technical plans.
- Use technical decision-making to guide engineering strategy and manage technical debt.
- Act as a force multiplier by setting engineering direction and raising quality standards.
- Provide technical leadership through code review and mentorship of engineers.
- Collaborate with product management and design to translate needs into technical solutions.
- Explore AI opportunities to enhance lab operations and analysis.
- Own end-to-end delivery of critical features from planning to monitoring.
- Help build and scale the team by improving tooling and processes.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with increasing scope and impact.
- Experience as a technical lead on significant projects involving multiple engineers.
- Strong experience in building backend systems and APIs for cloud-based applications.
- Proven ability to design scalable architectures that align with business needs.
- Track record of independently driving initiative-level work across multiple teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear technical designs.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineers in testing and performance.
- Interest in learning about life sciences; prior biotech knowledge is a plus.
