Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements and technical designs to define development tasks, test scope, scenarios, dependencies, and end-to-end validation coverage.
  • Design, develop, unit test, debug, and maintain application components, APIs, database objects, ETL processes, and technical documentation.
  • Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated functional tests for web applications, APIs, databases, and ETL processes.
  • Develop reusable application code, automation scripts, test utilities, and quality engineering assets.
  • Perform code reviews, integration testing, defect analysis, remediation, regression testing, and retesting.
  • Integrate application builds and automated tests into CI/CD and continuous testing pipelines and provide engineering and quality dashboard feedback.
  • Manage source code, test suites, execution evidence, requirement traceability, defect logging, test data, and test environments.
  • Support functional and non-functional testing, including performance, reliability, operational readiness, accessibility, and security testing.
  • Apply BDD/TDD and approved AI-assisted engineering and testing capabilities while validating outputs for accuracy, security, explainability, and bias.
  • Collaborate with business partners, developers, quality engineers, and platform teams, and document technical decisions, risks, dependencies, test results, and lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Two to three years of relevant software development, quality engineering, or combined software engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing, debugging, unit testing, and maintaining application code in at least one programming language or modern application framework.
  • Hands-on experience with functional testing and test automation, including automated test design, execution, maintenance, and debugging.
  • Experience with web application development or support, web UI testing, and an automation framework such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, database development or support, and database/ETL testing.
  • Experience developing or testing REST APIs using tools or libraries such as Postman or REST Assured.
  • Understanding of source control, code review, build and release practices, CI/CD integration, continuous testing, defect management, test data planning, and environment planning.
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented programming, secure coding practices, BDD/TDD, and governed AI-assisted development and testing.
  • Preferred exposure to Java, C#, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, common web application frameworks, Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, qTest, Xray, JMeter, k6, Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure Pipelines.
  • Preferred experience with accessibility, security, performance, reliability, operational readiness, enterprise DevOps practices, reusable engineering assets, and scripting.
