Base Salary
$140k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and refine onboard software features from concept through delivery while ensuring robustness and reliability.
- Review code, provide feedback, and maintain adherence to development processes, style guides, and design standards.
- Design and implement unit tests for authored and peer-authored code.
- Use version control to create branches, push code, and merge approved changes into production branches.
- Contribute to onboard software architecture through design proposals and collaborative reviews.
- Improve software development processes and design standards.
- Coordinate with downstream teams on release, distribution, and adoption of software releases.
- Participate in operating Loft’s on-orbit satellite fleet.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience using C/C++ including C++11 or newer and Python.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as GitLab-CI or Jenkins.
- Experience with build systems such as Make or CMake.
- Understanding of distributed architecture.
- Familiarity with UDP, TCP, IP, and POSIX standards.
- Experience developing multithreaded applications.
- Preferred experience with Go or Rust.
- Preferred experience with embedded Linux, Yocto, device trees, systemd, and Linux on ARM platforms.
- Preferred proficiency with pytest, Googletest, Unity, Robot, or Cucumber.
- Preferred experience with gRPC, ZMQ, or NATS middleware.
- Preferred experience with Docker, K3S, or systemd-nspawn containerization technologies.
