Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud-native microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
- Build and maintain event-driven systems using Kafka for real-time data processing.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot applications on ECS, Docker, and Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Support the design and implementation of secure, scalable APIs using APIGEE.
- Use Devin, Claude Code, and internal Citi AI tools to improve development efficiency and code quality.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and collaborate with developers, testers, and architects.
Requirements
- More than three years of hands-on application development experience with Java/J2EE technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in science, computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Java 1.8 or above and Spring Boot.
- Understanding of microservice architecture patterns and experience building RESTful web services.
- Familiarity with Kafka, cloud environments, ECS, Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Exposure to API gateway management tools such as APIGEE.
- Proficiency with Git and experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools including Jira, BitBucket, and TeamCity.
- Experience writing unit tests with JUnit and Mockito.
- Basic understanding of relational databases such as Oracle and NoSQL databases.
- Interest in adopting an AI-first mindset and learning AI-powered coding assistants.
