Responsibilities
- Own the technical design, development, maintenance, and reliability of key native integrations across Dialpad’s Integrations platform.
- Build and enhance integrations with Zendesk, HubSpot, AthenaHealth, Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and other SaaS platforms.
- Develop backend services, APIs, workers, webhooks, data-transfer flows, UI components, and automation workflows.
- Lead delivery of Agentic AI-compatible integrations and help shape technical direction for the functional area.
- Write architectural design and specification documents covering options, tradeoffs, risks, dependencies, rollout plans, and success metrics.
- Break down projects, own execution and delivery milestones, and provide end-to-end technical accountability.
- Develop tested, maintainable, performant, reliable, secure, and debuggable software with monitoring and alerting.
- Debug production issues across Dialpad services and third-party platforms and implement durable fixes.
- Participate in code and design reviews and mentor junior engineers through implementation, debugging, and production support.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience owning significant backend, full-stack, platform, or integration systems in production from design through launch, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Experience with an object-oriented programming language, especially Python or JavaScript.
- Experience building integrations, APIs, webhooks, event-driven systems, distributed systems, or customer-facing platform features.
- Experience with OAuth, permission models, API rate limits, webhooks, event delivery, retries, idempotency, and third-party platform constraints.
- Strong testing, debugging, and troubleshooting skills across distributed systems and third-party platforms.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs, write design documents, surface risks, and align stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously while balancing customer impact, quality, timelines, and business goals.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising the quality bar for a team.
- Agentic AI experience or strong interest in building AI-compatible product workflows.
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude, Gemini, or similar tools for most coding tasks.
