Responsibilities
- Design and build customer-facing full-stack features using React and Node.js/TypeScript from concept through production deployment.
- Architect and optimize public and internal backend APIs for throughput, latency, reliability, versioning, rate limiting, and enterprise-scale use.
- Implement caching strategies and optimize PostgreSQL and MongoDB data access, schemas, queries, indexes, and migrations.
- Profile and resolve performance bottlenecks across React rendering, state management, databases, network I/O, and backend services.
- Improve codebase architecture and system reliability, maintainability, scalability, and availability.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and product designers to define and deliver features informed by customer feedback.
- Mentor and coach engineers on engineering practices, performance, and testing.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working on large-scale systems or services.
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript expertise building backend services and public or internal APIs.
- Production experience building full-stack React applications, including component architecture, state management, rendering performance, and modern tooling.
- Deep experience with PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, indexing, and migrations.
- Production experience with MongoDB document modeling, aggregation pipelines, and scaling patterns.
- Hands-on experience designing and tuning Redis caching layers, cache invalidation, write-through or write-behind patterns, and TTL management.
- Experience identifying and resolving performance problems using profiling tools, APM instrumentation, load testing, and capacity planning.
- Experience with Docker or similar containerization technologies and cloud environments; AWS and/or Azure experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
- Preferred experience with RBAC, multi-tenant platforms, identity and access management products, event-driven architectures, pub/sub systems, asynchronous job processing, Datadog, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, SSO, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and enterprise security patterns.
