Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test scalable, reliable software for a high-volume, high-availability payment platform.
- Maintain and modernize a complex monolithic application while developing scalable microservices.
- Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services, and Support teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Deploy production features with zero platform downtime and no impact on active customers.
- Apply e-commerce payments domain expertise to develop new product features.
- Participate in pair programming, test-driven development, and a collaborative team culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
- At least 7 years of relevant Java software engineering experience, excluding internships.
- Exceptional Java programming, SQL, relational data modeling, and database schema design skills.
- Ability to derive requirements from high-level business goals and translate them into technical solutions.
- Preferred experience includes microservices, globally distributed services, 24/7 support, RESTful API design, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS, and OpenShift.
- Preferred experience includes Ansible, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Harness, Snyk, SonarQ, Cucumber, Karate, Splunk, Sysdig, OpsGenie, OpenTelemetry, Instaclustr, Prometheus, JBehave, JGiven, Xmatters, ServiceNow, and JUnit.
- Pair programming experience and a willingness to try pair programming are preferred.
