Responsibilities
- Enforce observability governance, standards, guardrails, identity and access controls, and platform reliability.
- Develop and implement features for LSEG’s observability and event intelligence platform.
- Implement OpenTelemetry for standardized instrumentation, distributed tracing, and metrics collection.
- Deploy and configure Datadog, BigPanda, Cribl, Splunk, and ServiceNow integrations.
- Provide self-service onboarding and offboarding, platform limit management, L3 support, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Automate provisioning and integrations using Terraform, Python, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and shell scripting.
- Explore observability products, conduct proofs of concept, create implementation roadmaps, and optimize platform usage and cost.
- Collaborate with cloud, tooling, application, operations, and vendor engineering teams and develop support procedures.
Requirements
- 10–12 years of experience in technology development with strong exposure to cloud environments.
- 2–3 years of experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar products.
- Experience implementing and supporting open-source systems including ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Vector, and Jaeger.
- Hands-on experience with Datadog, BigPanda, Splunk, and ServiceNow integrations.
- Strong proficiency in GitLab, Terraform, Python, CI/CD, and shell scripting.
- Strong cloud knowledge, particularly Azure followed by AWS.
- Experience developing scalable monitoring, logging, and observability standards for hundreds of application teams in a cost-optimized manner.
- Experience integrating systems, metrics, logs, and applications with monitoring and APM tools and building real-time dashboards and analytics.
- Professional qualification or equivalent in cloud engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; experience with ITSM, ITIL, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with New Relic and Grafana-Prometheus is beneficial.
