
Sr. Staff MCU and Digital Power Application Engineer, Taipei

Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support to customers using Renesas MCUs, PMICs, digital controllers, and power SoCs.
- Perform board bring-up, MCU peripheral configuration, and system-level debugging.
- Assist with digital power solutions involving DC-DC converters, PMICs, and MCU-based power control.
- Develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware in C/C++ for bare-metal or RTOS environments.
- Develop proof-of-concept solutions and technical collateral combining MCU and power solutions.
- Design and tune digital control loops for voltage, current, power factor, and multi-phase systems.
- Troubleshoot control stability, efficiency, EMI, transient response, and thermal-performance issues.
- Collaborate with FAEs, marketing, and business-unit engineering teams on design-ins and customer escalations.
- Deliver technical training, workshops, and customer presentations on digital power solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or computer engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
- At least 8 years of professional industry experience in embedded systems and digital power applications.
- Hands-on experience with digital power or power-management systems.
- Strong understanding of digital control theory for power electronics.
- Familiarity with control-loop compensation, PID or digital compensators, ADCs, PWMs, comparators, and timers.
- Experience developing embedded MCU firmware in C.
- Working proficiency in English and fluency in Chinese.
- Preferred experience with MCU peripherals and UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, and Ethernet communication protocols.
- Preferred experience debugging power systems for efficiency, transient response, thermal performance, and EMI/EMC.
- Preferred familiarity with industrial factory automation, energy, and power infrastructure applications.
- Preferred experience developing reference boards, evaluation kits, or demo systems.
- Prior application-engineering, field-application-engineering, or customer-facing engineering experience is preferred.
- A proactive, agile, and results-oriented mindset is expected.
