Base Salary
$82k - $141k/yr
Responsibilities
- Contribute to building software features, investigating and fixing bugs, and writing tests for basic software components.
- Drive limited-scope projects to completion with general instruction and resolve routine issues within defined tasks.
- Contribute to software design, development, enhancement, maintenance, and engineering specifications.
- Work collaboratively on cross-functional Agile teams and communicate project status to team members.
- Follow design control processes, quality standards, engineering practices, and Abbott’s Quality Management System policies.
- Build relationships with peers, subject-matter experts, and decision-makers while supporting the company’s mission and values.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or Engineering, or a high school diploma/GED plus four years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree.
- Basic knowledge of software development, software design, and relevant domain-specific skills.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, RESTful web services, relational databases, and ORM technologies.
- Experience designing and developing applications that access or use cloud-based frameworks such as Azure or Amazon AWS Services/SDKs.
- Familiarity with Agile development tools including JIRA and Confluence.
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation and authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing data analysis tools and workflows and object-oriented languages such as Python, Java, .NET, or C++.
