Responsibilities
- Define and manage target data architecture for risk information and align it with Citi Data Standards.
- Partner with information owners and technology teams to define and implement data roadmaps.
- Build and maintain data pipelines for retention, cleanup, persistence, and NoSQL data storage.
- Implement data consistency checks and business rules to validate data quality.
- Optimize data engineering pipelines and queries for efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Perform data quality analysis, root cause analysis, reconciliation, normalization, and metrics reporting.
- Support legacy-to-cloud system migration programs through data mapping, reconciliation, and parallel run analysis.
- Guide data collection, validation, analysis, reporting, and presentation processes.
- Prepare materials for operating reviews, portfolio reviews, town halls, staff meetings, and senior management updates.
- Coach and train new team members while providing technical leadership and cross-functional facilitation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of banking or financial services experience.
- 8+ years of data engineering experience in the Big Data ecosystem, with Spark as the primary skill.
- Experience defining risk management data structures and architecture.
- Experience with data integration, ETL/ELT, scalable data pipelines, batch processing, replication, and event streaming.
- Strong knowledge of NoSQL databases, particularly HBase.
- Strong proficiency in Python and Spark, including RDDs, DataFrames, and Spark Streaming.
- Knowledge of Java, Scala, and SQL.
- Experience with large-scale data integration, migration, and ETL design and implementation using technologies such as PySpark, DataStage, or Ab Initio.
- Experience supporting medium- to large-scale enterprise projects, preferably in financial services.
- Experience with data mapping, reconciliation, normalization, data quality, and system migration.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, facilitate, partner, and present results to senior management.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical, written, verbal communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to experiment with and learn new approaches and technology applications.
