Responsibilities

  • Lead live-site management, cloud production management, production readiness, change governance, incident response, problem management, and operational risk reduction.
  • Define and improve SRE practices including service-level indicators, service-level objectives, error budgets, capacity planning, and reliability engineering.
  • Advance observability through logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, and automated anomaly detection.
  • Lead high-severity incident response, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and durable remediation across engineering teams.
  • Establish production health, availability, performance, resiliency, operational controls, runbooks, dashboards, and service health objectives.
  • Shape AWS cloud architecture, cloud cost optimization, infrastructure-as-code, multi-region resiliency, active-active operations, failover/failback, and disaster recovery.
  • Lead responsible adoption and validation of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools.
  • Raise shared architectural standards and communicate complex technical strategy to leadership.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Deep AWS expertise across compute, data, networking, security, and observability, with production architecture experience.
  • Experience managing cloud-hosted production services and leading live-site management in complex, business-critical environments.
  • Strong SRE and observability expertise, including SLI/SLO definition, error budgets, telemetry, distributed tracing, alert design, capacity management, and performance engineering.
  • Experience leading major incident response, root-cause analysis, production readiness standards, operational controls, runbooks, and measurable service health objectives.
  • Ability to reason about system-wide trade-offs, failure modes, dependencies, cost, scalability, automation, reliability, and AI integration.
  • Hands-on ability to validate and prototype ideas, along with executive communication and independent judgment in a regulated environment.
  • Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on correctness, performance, security, data sensitivity, and compliant use.
