Senior Lead Software Engineer, Backend

Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable, secure backend systems and APIs for real-time applications.
- Own architecture, workstream planning, implementation guidance, and the full engineering development lifecycle.
- Write high-performance, well-tested code while establishing standards for reliability, scalability, quality, and operational excellence.
- Set best practices for system design, testing strategies, code quality, performance monitoring, and system monitoring.
- Triage, debug, and resolve complex production issues for team-owned systems.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to align technical execution with business priorities.
- Mentor and develop engineers at all levels.
- Shape the technical roadmap and influence architecture and strategic engineering decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
- At least 7 years of backend development experience using object-oriented languages such as C# or Java.
- Advanced proficiency in software architecture, object-oriented programming principles, and scalable system design.
- Expertise designing and building distributed systems in cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience building resilient, high-performance systems with automated unit, integration, and performance test coverage.
- Demonstrated leadership in setting technical direction, conducting code and design reviews, and influencing architecture decisions.
- Experience mentoring engineers and fostering a high-performance learning environment.
- Strong focus on improving system reliability, scalability, maintainability, and development best practices.
