Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex build, automation, tooling, and engine systems supporting multiple projects.
- Improve development workflows, build tools, automation systems, source repositories, and deployment workflows.
- Contribute to engine source code, rendering systems, performance optimization, and platform-specific integrations.
- Own major systems and features from conception through shipping, support, and iteration.
- Collaborate with game developers, technical artists, team leads, and engine teams on tooling and solution requirements.
- Debug complex technical issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions.
- Establish best practices for architecture, testing, performance, and maintainable code.
- Communicate technical concepts, constraints, and proposals to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least two years of game development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and/or C#, with deep understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Experience with at least one major game engine: Unity, Unreal, or Godot, including custom engine system development.
- Excellent proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to write efficient, maintainable code with attention to performance and memory management.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, time-management, and deadline-management skills.
- Preferred experience with Python, GDScript, or Lua for tools and scripting.
- Preferred background in console development, platform certification, rendering pipelines, art pipelines, performance profiling, automated game testing, and distributed or remote teams.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies is preferred.
