Responsibilities
- Define the long-term technical vision and roadmap for the data platform with technology and architecture leadership.
- Own end-to-end architecture and key technical decisions across platform systems, from data ingestion through distribution.
- Set and evolve engineering standards for platform infrastructure, data modeling, testing, observability, and data lineage.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers through design leadership, code reviews, and hands-on technical guidance.
- Collaborate with architects, security engineers, control functions, the Chief Data Office, and other stakeholders to improve compliance, security posture, and reliability.
- Translate product vision and internal customer demand into data platform capabilities with product owners.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in platform engineering, ideally involving enterprise data platforms.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a similar field is a plus.
- Deep expertise in modern data platforms, preferably Snowflake and its ecosystem, and complex data modernization projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical decisions across complex enterprises and influence without formal authority.
- Extensive experience running production data platforms and cloud infrastructure at enterprise scale.
- Strong understanding of data governance and IT compliance in regulated environments.
- A strong track record of leading, mentoring, and transforming engineering teams.
- Strong programming skills, problem-solving ability, strategic thinking, and attention to detail.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
