Responsibilities
- Design and implement challenging projects for market-data processing pipelines.
- Build a data landscape that serves as the long-term single source of relevant data.
- Engineer ETL processes.
- Develop high-performance APIs and streaming solutions for clients and data vendors.
- Advise internally on effective ways to track, store, and access data.
- Define best practices for scalable, resilient, high-performance, and highly available services.
- Provide technical mentoring and collaborate with business analysts and data engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development, data engineering, or relevant experience, including at least 5 years of in-depth Python experience.
- Good understanding of microservice architectures, Liskov’s Substitution Principle, design patterns, and dynamic dispatch.
- Experience with at least one SQL or NoSQL database, including schema definition and evolution.
- Experience with ORM frameworks such as SQLAlchemy, JPA, or Hibernate.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform and cloud-native development.
- Ability to define build pipelines and perform, validate, and monitor deployments.
- Ability to define Docker images according to Twelve-Factor App methodology.
- Ability to use Git from the command line and apply version-control management practices.
- Strong technical mentoring skills and full professional proficiency in English.
- Ability to explain ideas and concepts to both stakeholders and developers; knowledge of the business domain as mathematical structures is appreciated.
