Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize algorithm solutions for computer vision, 3D modeling, multimodal sensor-data fusion, and open-set recognition and identification in imagery.
- Implement and evaluate novel AI/ML prototype solutions and mature promising prototypes into operational capabilities.
- Develop high-quality Python software and support solutions deployed across cloud and edge-capable devices and environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams, transition-focused engineers, academic partners, and distributed cross-functional teams.
- Lead and direct research initiatives from inception through functional prototypes.
- Communicate and brief technical and non-technical audiences throughout the solution lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, or another scientific field, with 8+ years of relevant experience; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Strong proficiency in Python and demonstrated ability to produce clean, high-quality code.
- Ability to implement and evaluate novel prototype solutions and mature them into operational capabilities.
- Knowledge of software development best practices, including Git and Agile workflows.
- Understanding of machine-learning methods, including vision transformers, foundation-model fine-tuning, self-supervised or semi-self-supervised learning, vision-language models, agentic training, or large-scale object reassociation.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance and meet U.S. government citizenship requirements.
- Experience leading and directing research initiatives, working on large distributed cross-functional teams, or supporting U.S. Government software accreditation processes is preferred.
- An active security clearance is preferred.
