Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices for enterprise-grade customer-facing applications.
- Drive the technical design and implementation of complex features and services.
- Write clean, efficient, testable code and own feature development and testing end to end.
- Create and document test plans and use cases.
- Participate in system design, architectural decisions, estimation, sprint planning, and technical roadmap discussions.
- Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams on development and delivery workflows.
- Improve engineering excellence through automation, observability, and operational best practices.
- Troubleshoot production systems, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- More than 3 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development for enterprise-grade, customer-facing applications.
- Strong proficiency in data structures and algorithms, software design principles, design patterns, and system design fundamentals.
- Deep expertise building microservices with advanced Java concepts and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle, Git operations, relational databases, and messaging systems such as Google Pub/Sub, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or Prometheus.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Harness, and cloud infrastructure.
- Preferred experience with webhooks, REST endpoints, and source control systems including GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps.
- Preferred familiarity with contract testing, performance testing, Bash scripting, Google Pub/Sub, and AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
