Base Salary

$167k - $231k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead successful cross-team and multi-quarter projects involving multiple engineers.
  • Develop and advance existing and greenfield backend projects with end users in mind.
  • Identify opportunities to expand impact beyond assigned team projects.
  • Turn team projects into opportunities to improve the engineering team’s technical platform.
  • Build scalable loan-servicing, workflow-automation, system-integration, and customer-service capabilities.
  • Contribute to building the engineering team and improving the organization’s working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, plus 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing backend applications with Kotlin, Java, or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems with service-to-service APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience building and maintaining scalable backend services that process business-critical or financial data in production.
  • Experience contributing to decision engines that integrate with machine learning models to evaluate signals.
  • Experience writing production-quality code supported by automated testing, monitoring, and observability practices.
  • Preferred experience integrating systems with third parties, handling large amounts of data, and working with SQL, data warehouses, or other database technologies.
  • Preferred experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices-based applications.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, receptiveness to feedback, continuous-improvement mindset, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
