Base Salary
$120k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and operate significant data-platform, distributed data-service, graph, or agent-runtime components.
- Build reliable batch or streaming ingestion and processing systems and distributed services for security investigations and analytics.
- Improve scalability, security, recovery, observability, data quality, performance, and cost using production telemetry and customer feedback.
- Own live-site health and incident response while strengthening testing, deployment practices, and service resilience.
- Set architectural direction, resolve complex cross-team challenges, and align teams on durable technical solutions.
- Partner with product, applied science, and engineering leaders and mentor engineers through design and code reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline plus 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years or a master’s degree plus 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience with Java, C++, C, or another object-oriented language and strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- 6+ years of experience building, shipping, and operating production-grade software, online services, or fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- 6+ years of experience designing secure, maintainable, well-tested, and performant solutions and improving quality through debugging, code reviews, testing, and deployment automation.
- 6+ years of experience translating customer needs into technical designs, evaluating architectural trade-offs, and resolving cross-team dependencies.
- Preferred experience setting technical direction across multiple teams and applying security standards and service hardening.
- Ability to pass Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
