Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, modify, launch, install, implement, and maintain information-system applications and operations systems.
- Write Windows-based applications that interact with databases, web services, and Windows services.
- Develop and maintain data interfaces to and from clients and vendors.
- Analyze, triage, schedule, and assess user programming requests for compatibility with existing systems and procedures.
- Consult with users to determine project needs, identify potential pitfalls, and develop alternative system solutions.
- Prepare written plans describing proposed system changes, affected components, database files, source code, and desired outcomes for approval.
- Create, design, develop, test, and maintain efficient database environments across all locations.
- Provide support for system analysis, design, testing, implementation, installation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Collaborate with developers, programmers, analysts, designers, project management, support teams, and internal departments.
- Train and provide continuing education to end users and IS staff on EDI, interfaces, data loads, and database maintenance.
- Maintain data-load logs and routine SQL statements for database maintenance.
- Manage system storage cleanup, including test environments, temporary databases, and journal receivers.
- Monitor database effectiveness and ensure transfers, rejections, and other inter-system processes are handled promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least three years of experience with C++, C#, .NET programming, and MS SQL.
- At least five years of experience using PowerBuilder 10.5 or higher to design, develop, and support enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of Sybase and MS SQL.
- Experience with ORM frameworks such as LLBLGEN and Entity Framework.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs.
- At least three years of experience working in a database environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, systems-analysis, and user-consultation skills.
