Responsibilities
- Analyze software requirements, architecture, interfaces, and user or business needs.
- Design, develop, implement, test, debug, and maintain software applications, modules, and services.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure software meets quality, security, maintainability, and performance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and technical issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Prepare and execute unit, integration, and system testing.
- Collaborate with system architects, QA analysts, developers, project managers, and other technical stakeholders.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design documents, test plans, user guides, administrator guides, and release notes.
- Support software deployment, configuration, maintenance, version control, and CI/CD processes.
- Research emerging technologies and contribute to software development process improvement.
- Ensure software development activities comply with applicable security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Completed education and/or training in software development, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related technical discipline.
- At least two years of demonstrated software development or programming experience.
- Demonstrated experience performing at least six of the listed core software development responsibilities.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications or components.
- Experience analyzing technical and user requirements and translating them into functional software solutions.
- Experience with one or more modern programming languages, frameworks, or software development tools.
- Experience troubleshooting software defects and conducting unit, integration, and/or system testing.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies, version control systems, CI/CD concepts, and software deployment processes.
- Ability to prepare technical documentation and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical discussion skills.
- Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Level II Canadian Federal Government Security clearance, VCRs, and Controlled Goods clearances.
- Consultants must hold Controlled Goods clearance and insurance.
