Responsibilities
- Design and develop mission-critical backend systems for a cybersecurity platform.
- Build and operate distributed systems and scalable architectures handling high daily traffic volumes.
- Lead project initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
- Apply software design patterns and evaluate practical trade-offs.
- Design schemas, optimize queries, and tune performance in relational databases.
- Use AI tools and prompt engineering to support operations and development.
- Collaborate effectively across the engineering team.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in one or more languages such as Python or Java.
- Experience building solutions with distributed systems and scalable architectures.
- Proven experience building and operating high-traffic systems.
- Hands-on expertise with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with security principles, secure coding practices, cybersecurity best practices, and common security tooling.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor other engineers.
- Proficiency with AI tools and practical fluency with prompt engineering.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and their practical trade-offs.
- Collaborative mindset and experience working effectively across a team.
- Working knowledge of vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or pgvector is preferred.
- Working knowledge of graph databases such as Neo4j is preferred.
