Base Salary
$181k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Improve the performance and resilience of scalable backend systems across product teams.
- Build and maintain shared infrastructure benefiting the broader organization.
- Implement observability practices using OpenTelemetry, logging, and standard SLOs.
- Own the design and follow-up process for incident response.
- Mentor teams on secure coding practices and resilient, performant software.
- Promote automated testing practices to support high-quality code.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams on technical solutions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience building scalable backend services at a B2B financial services, fintech, or SaaS organization.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Understanding of performant and reliable systems.
- A relevant bachelor’s degree is preferred, but equivalent experience and understanding are valued.
- Preferred experience includes AWS, tabletop exercises, GitLab pipelines, Terraform, Debezium, Temporal, OpenTelemetry, AI best practices with Claude, and brokerage or financial services platforms.
- Strong communication, ownership, creative problem-solving, resilience, and collaborative judgment.
