Responsibilities

  • Design and operate AI and ML inference infrastructure, including deployment pipelines and CPU/GPU-aware orchestration.
  • Develop workflows for rapid iteration and safe promotion from development to production.
  • Optimize infrastructure for foundation models, gradient-boosted trees, and varied model architectures with high throughput, low latency, and high availability.
  • Establish ML deployment practices including multi-version models, blue/green rollouts, shadow deployments, and rollback strategies.
  • Reduce operational complexity and simplify platform onboarding to improve developer experience.
  • Influence long-term platform architecture and technical direction across Riot’s ML ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with researchers and game teams to understand product needs and build reusable platform capabilities.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools and workflows thoughtfully while maintaining engineering quality and reliability.
  • Lead without authority and provide technical guidance and direction to other engineers.

Requirements

  • At least six years of engineering experience, including experience with ML/AI, platform, or infrastructure teams.
  • Experience operating inference platforms such as KServe and production ML infrastructure such as Feast, Milvus, or similar open-source systems.
  • Experience with inference-serving frameworks including NVIDIA Triton/Dynamo, TorchServe, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with GPU orchestration, performance tuning, and cost-aware scheduling.
  • Experience with CI/CD workflows, infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform, and artifact management.
  • Experience building and operating services in distributed or service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience building ML infrastructure in real-time or latency-sensitive environments is desired.
  • Hands-on experience optimizing deployments of LLMs, diffusion models, and other ML/AI systems for throughput, latency, and reliability is desired.
  • Familiarity with agentic workflows and orchestration frameworks for LLM-based systems is desired.
  • Passion for player experience, game systems, or creative technology development is desired.
