Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
Design relational data models and ERDs and develop, optimize, and maintain Oracle RDS and other relational database schemas and queries.
Implement API endpoints, versioning, request and response handling, security measures, and Swagger documentation.
Write unit and integration tests with JUnit and maintain code coverage using JaCoCo.
Develop and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines with Gradle, Maven, and Jenkins.
Deploy backend services in AWS and apply cloud-native architecture, security, and cost-efficiency practices.
Participate in Agile planning and iterative delivery cycles.
Collaborate with frontend engineers, platform teams, database administrators, and mission stakeholders on integrations and architecture.
Produce technical documentation for services, data models, APIs, and architecture decisions.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
10+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend systems development.
Hands-on experience with Java backend frameworks including Spring Boot and Hibernate.
Experience with relational database design, data modeling, and ERDs.
Experience with Oracle Relational Database Services.
Experience designing RESTful APIs and implementing API security.
Experience with JUnit, integration testing, and code coverage tools such as JaCoCo.
Experience with servlet containers such as Tomcat.
Proficiency with Linux-based environments and shell scripting.
Experience with Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Swagger and AWS.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
Preferred experience with AWS Lambda, serverless architectures, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Node.js, Python, AWS EKS, or AWS Step Functions.
