Responsibilities
- Build and maintain innovative product features while learning new areas of the product.
- Collaborate with feature owners and engineers to improve product functionality.
- Participate in design and architecture discussions for Sezzle’s platform.
- Contribute hands-on code and participate in code reviews.
- Mentor engineers who are beginning their careers.
- Continuously build and deploy scalable solutions with the team.
- Assist with project planning, estimation, and completion.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents.
Requirements
- 3–7 years of experience in software development.
- Experience solving technical problems as part of a team.
- Familiarity with modern frontend development, preferably with React.
- Ability to solve backend problems using Go or a similar compiled, statically typed language.
- Intermediate understanding of relational databases such as MySQL.
- Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservice architecture, software engineering tools, development methodology, and release processes.
