Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI agents and tools that streamline clinical decision-making, automate administrative tasks, and enhance clinical workflows.
- Build full-stack architectures for AI-agentic systems, including context engineering, MCP servers, API design, and deployment.
- Architect and develop scalable backend services and integrations using Python, Java Spring Boot, and SQL.
- Collaborate with backend, mobile, AI, product, design, and clinical teams to translate operational needs into technical specifications and prototypes.
- Ensure AI applications are reliable, secure, scalable, and compliant with standards such as HIPAA.
- Mentor and coach engineers and promote effective cross-functional development practices.
- Monitor and optimize production AI systems to support rapid growth and a seamless user experience.
- Participate in on-call rotations and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in backend services.
- Experience developing and deploying AI-powered applications using LLMs such as GPT, Claude, or Gemini.
- Practical knowledge of prompt engineering, vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and other techniques for reliable LLM-based systems.
- Proficiency in Java and/or Python and experience developing microservices.
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, including query optimization.
- Ability to collaborate across product, design, clinical, and non-technical stakeholder groups.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects from concept to completion.
- Experience in healthcare, biosensors, or related fields is preferred but not required.
