Responsibilities

  • Lead live-site management, cloud production management, production readiness, change governance, incident response, problem management, and operational risk reduction.
  • Define and improve SRE practices covering service-level indicators, service-level objectives, error budgets, capacity planning, and reliability engineering.
  • Advance application and infrastructure observability through logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, and automated anomaly detection.
  • Lead major incident response, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and elimination of recurring production issues.
  • Establish production health, availability, performance, resiliency, and measurable service health standards.
  • Shape AWS cloud architecture, cloud cost optimization, infrastructure-as-code, automation, multi-region resiliency, active-active operations, failover/failback, and disaster recovery.
  • Lead responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and automation tools, including validation and secure handling of inputs and outputs.
  • Establish architectural standards and communicate complex technical strategy to engineering and business leadership.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Deep AWS expertise across compute, data, networking, security, and observability, with production architecture experience.
  • Experience managing cloud-hosted production services and leading live-site management in complex, business-critical environments.
  • Strong SRE and observability expertise, including SLI/SLO definition, error budgets, telemetry, distributed tracing, alert design, capacity management, and performance engineering.
  • Experience leading high-severity incident response, root-cause analysis, and durable remediation across multiple engineering teams.
  • Experience establishing production readiness standards, operational controls, runbooks, dashboards, and measurable service health objectives.
  • Ability to reason about system trade-offs, failure modes, dependencies, cost, scalability, automation, reliability, and AI integration.
  • Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development practices and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, security, and compliance.
  • Executive communication and independent judgment in a regulated, high-stakes environment.
  • Hands-on ability to validate and prototype technical ideas rather than only advise.
