Senior Software Engineer - DevOps Expert, Officer
State StreetResponsibilities
- Lead complex DevOps design, development, and implementation decisions across CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure platforms.
- Own and evolve end-to-end delivery pipelines covering build, test, security scanning, artifact publishing, deployment, and promotion.
- Define and drive standards for Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, release orchestration, and environment consistency.
- Provide technical leadership for reliability, scalability, operability, and cost efficiency across cloud and container platforms.
- Serve as a power user and local authority for GitHub, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, JFrog Artifactory, and similar tooling.
- Implement secure-by-default approaches involving identity integrations, access management, secrets handling, and security scanning.
- Lead incident troubleshooting and advanced root-cause analysis for escalated issues.
- Manage, mentor, and coach engineers through hands-on guidance, design reviews, and operational practices.
- Drive team efficiency, AI adoption, operating-model maturity, cross-team collaboration, and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with global teams on platform initiatives and participate fully in the agile development process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is recommended.
- 8+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar roles.
- Strong experience designing and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, such as Terraform.
- Strong Azure experience, including Azure Portal usage, governance, and cost management.
- Kubernetes and AKS experience, including Helm-based deployment models.
- Familiarity with artifact management, build tooling, and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience using AI tools in routine development activities.
- Occasional AWS exposure is beneficial.
