Base Salary
$191k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the migration governance framework end-to-end.
- Drive the technical strategy for the global database fleet.
- Monitor and optimize database reliability and performance.
- Build self-service tooling and developer guardrails.
- Lead database incident response and drive systemic improvements.
- Partner with Security and Compliance for data-layer controls.
- Represent database engineering in vendor evaluations and technology discussions.
- Shape the database engineering function and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in database administration or reliability engineering with PostgreSQL.
- Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL, including WAL mechanics and replication.
- Track record of building migration governance systems.
- Experience architecting database infrastructure for multi-region environments.
- Deep fluency with database observability and monitoring strategies.
- Experience leading database upgrades or sharding initiatives with zero downtime.
- Proven ability to influence technical direction across teams.
- Proficiency with cloud database services and infrastructure-as-code.
