Responsibilities

  • Design, code, and develop backend applications and services running in AWS.
  • Optimize and refactor existing services to improve reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Architect systems, write and review code, and evaluate detailed technical plans.
  • Follow engineering standards to maintain code quality, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with teammates and external groups on technical implementations and procedures.
  • Provide production and integration support for shared technology across Zynga games.

Requirements

  • A degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Experience programming RESTful services using Java.
  • Strong understanding of backend server applications and web services.
  • Strong familiarity with AWS or other cloud computing platforms, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with caching using Valkey and database systems including RDS, SQL, and NoSQL.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, Angular, and/or React is a strong plus.
  • Experience with object-oriented application and systems design.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Experience working with external groups or teams on technical implementations and procedures.
  • Experience working with AI tools.
  • Experience with C#, Swift, Kotlin, iOS, Android, WebGL, or Unity is a bonus.

Benefits

  • Ontario base pay is listed at $99,800 to $147,680 CAD per year, excluding potential bonus and equity.
  • Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage.
