Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership through prototyping, targeted code reviews, and technical troubleshooting.
- Lead resolution of high-severity issues involving performance, reliability, security, cloud costs, data quality, and complex finance-system integrations.
- Define architecture, technical standards, and technology roadmaps for Finance Core Systems.
- Design scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-effective solutions for data pipelines, high-volume transaction processing, and online and offline finance calculations.
- Implement practical AI and agentic AI solutions, including frameworks and guardrails to improve engineering productivity.
- Research emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concepts supporting innovation and business outcomes.
- Communicate technical decisions, build alignment through influence, and mentor senior engineers and technical leaders.
Requirements
- Senior or Principal-level experience in software engineering, architecture, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience with prototyping, targeted code reviews, technical troubleshooting, and complex production issues.
- Expertise in system design, architecture, cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, security, observability, data pipelines, and high-volume transaction processing.
- Experience designing and operating systems supporting large volumes of online and offline financial calculations and transactions.
- Practical experience implementing AI or agentic AI solutions in products, platforms, or engineering processes.
- Expert hands-on experience with Python and Node.js is a strong asset.
- Experience with Oracle ERP, SAS, Databricks, and Snowflake is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical trade-offs to executive stakeholders.
- Collaborative, low-ego, people-first approach with the ability to mentor and lead through influence rather than formal authority.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering; a master’s degree or higher is an asset.
- Candidates located in Quebec must be bilingual due to regular interaction with English-speaking colleagues across Canada.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada; no Canadian work experience is required.
