Responsibilities

  • Design and develop distributed computing systems used by internal and external clients.
  • Research technology options and develop proofs of concept for evaluation.
  • Create integration and application technical design documentation.
  • Complete high-complexity development, configuration, and unit testing.
  • Resolve defects during testing phases and support performance testing.
  • Provide production support, troubleshoot production environments, and assist with environment tuning.
  • Conduct code reviews and verify team technical standards and practices.
  • Contribute to architecture and design discussions and identify issues and risks.
  • Assist junior developers and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with testers and business users to identify shortcomings in functionality, scalability, testability, security, and resiliency.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of Java; Java 17 or later is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of the Spring framework, including Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming and design patterns.
  • Web development skills involving Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Familiarity with JPA and Hibernate ORM frameworks.
  • Practical unit-testing knowledge with JUnit, Mockito, and Spock.
  • Experience with Unix platforms and cloud platforms.
  • Ability to understand and write SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Hudson, Maven, and Gradle.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology and good English and communication skills.
