Base Salary
$102k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and evolve scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-native platforms and backend services for generative AI agents and orchestration systems.
- Build and maintain golden-path reference implementations and CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Develop Go command-line tools and services that improve developer workflows from local development through production deployment.
- Establish and improve DORA metrics, including deployment frequency and change failure rate, to optimize delivery velocity and quality.
- Lead production infrastructure design using Kubernetes, Vercel, AWS, GCP, and AI platforms.
- Establish platform security practices using multi-cloud strategies, CNCF solutions, cloud-native security tools, and internal infrastructure.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and LLM observability solutions using DataDog and related tools.
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, frontend developers, product managers, SREs, and operations teams on platform and developer experience.
- Set processes and documentation supporting a team of more than 150 product managers, researchers, and engineers.
- Provide technical leadership, influence architecture, mentor team members, and promote engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in backend development, platform engineering, production engineering, or site reliability engineering.
- Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining backend services and associated client interfaces for product and engineering teams.
- Deep experience troubleshooting DNS, TCP, IP, and TLS protocols.
- Hands-on cloud-native experience with container registries, Kubernetes or ECS, object storage, managed PostgreSQL, serverless functions, networking, service mesh, IAM, infrastructure-as-code, secrets management, and pub/sub messaging.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in Go, Python, Rust, or another systems-level language is preferred.
- Experience with Terraform, CUE, AI-driven systems, agent-based architectures, LLM evaluation tools, and AI APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic is preferred.
- Experience owning SOC 2-compliant systems end to end and knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, or search-based AI are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure design, end-to-end testing strategies, automation, middleware, and RPC/REST API design patterns is preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, adaptability, curiosity, and commitment to high-quality reliable platform systems are required.
