Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software integration solutions across clinical, laboratory, and organizational systems.
- Develop, test, deploy, version-control, and promote HL7 interfaces across environments.
- Integrate laboratory information management systems, EHRs, and cloud-hosted clinical applications using HL7v2 and FHIR standards.
- Support clinical data transport through TCP, MLLP, SFTP, and REST layers.
- Build monitoring, logging, metrics, distributed tracing, alerting, and SLO capabilities for production interfaces.
- Diagnose production interface failures, conduct root cause analysis, and support reliable and secure movement of lab results, orders, and clinical documents.
- Develop infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Plan, organize, and conduct integration projects from inception through completion in accordance with design specifications and standards.
- Mentor junior engineers on interface design patterns and production support practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software or systems integration.
- Experience developing, testing, and deploying HL7 interfaces using an integration engine such as Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, Corepoint, or InterSystems.
- Experience with HL7v2 ADT, ORM, ORU, and SIU message structures.
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting and GitHub Actions CI/CD workflow development.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications in a cloud environment.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting across TCP, MLLP, SFTP, and REST transport layers.
- Knowledge of observability practices, including logging, metrics, distributed tracing, alerting, and SLO definition.
- Ability to diagnose production failures and drive root cause analysis under time pressure.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination.
- Preferred experience with LIMS platforms such as STARLIMS, LabWare, LabVantage, or Clinisys.
- Preferred experience with FHIR R4, RESTful FHIR APIs, and US Core profiles.
- Preferred experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, and Azure services including AKS, Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor.
- Preferred experience with GitHub Actions self-hosted runners, environment protection rules, and OIDC authentication to Azure.
- Preferred experience with Rhapsody IDE JavaScript filters, custom mapping, lookup tables, and automated integration-engine configuration promotion.
- Preferred knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, FISMA, FedRAMP, CCDA, X12, LOINC, SNOMED CT, and IHE profiles.
- Preferred master's degree in Health Informatics or Computer Science, healthcare or Azure certifications, and AHIMA or HIMSS credentials.
