Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, integrate, and support systems based on user specifications.
- Provide technical and consultative assistance for complex hardware and software problems.
- Develop large-scale Java backend applications, React frontends, REST APIs, microservices, and database solutions.
- Design and maintain relational database schemas and troubleshoot and optimize applications for security, performance, and responsiveness.
- Balance application-development responsibilities with application-support duties in a multi-platform environment.
- Guide developers, conduct code reviews, coordinate technical deliverables, and potentially lead specific projects.
- Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, business groups, and stakeholders across multiple business segments.
- Document code and communicate proposed technical solutions clearly.
- Maintain knowledge of technical industry trends and identify or provide training for less experienced staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience, or an additional 4 years of related work experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
- Fluency in Java 8 or above and strong experience developing large-scale backend applications.
- Strong experience with modern Java technologies, object-oriented programming, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing, developing, and integrating REST APIs and microservices.
- Strong front-end development experience with React.js and experience across the full web application development lifecycle.
- Experience with SQL and relational database management systems, including DB2, Oracle, and MySQL.
- Experience with Swagger/OAS, Maven, Eclipse, Jenkins, Git, GitHub, and Postman/Newman.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and preferably Apigee or a similar API gateway platform.
- Strong relational database schema design, troubleshooting, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and technical leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with IT teams, vendors, business groups, and multiple business segments; banking experience is a plus.
