Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, and develop systems based on user specifications.
- Provide technical and consultative support for complex hardware and software issues.
- Build and integrate Java backend applications, REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.
- Support production applications and troubleshoot application, API, database, security, and performance issues.
- Conduct code reviews and guide developers on Java and API best practices.
- Work with internal and third-party system integrations, vendors, business partners, and application support teams.
- Serve as project leader for specific projects and assist with training less-experienced staff.
- Maintain knowledge of technical industry trends and apply available tools to systems development and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, stored procedures, schema design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Experience building API-enabled applications and event-driven architectures with internal and third-party integrations.
- Experience with production support, code reviews, troubleshooting, Agile development, and guiding developers.
- Preferred: strong Google Cloud Platform experience.
- Preferred: experience with Swagger/OpenAPI, Maven, Git/GitHub, Jenkins, Postman/Newman, CI/CD practices, and Apigee or similar API gateway platforms.
- Preferred: banking industry experience and the ability to collaborate across IT teams, vendors, business partners, and application support teams.
