Responsibilities
- Own the core exchange backend systems for order matching, position management, and order state across perpetual futures
- Build and optimize the matching engine by profiling hot paths, reducing lock contention, and improving latency and throughput
- Design queueing and backpressure mechanisms that preserve order-book consistency and reliability under high load
- Instrument systems with metrics, logs, and traces and establish rollback guarantees for faster incident response
- Optimize CPU, memory, and allocation behavior for a high-throughput production exchange
- Own production incidents end to end and resolve latency and correctness issues while improving the system
Requirements
- Senior backend engineering experience with a strong background in order-book-based exchange systems
- Deep knowledge of concurrency, lock contention, asynchronous correctness, and performance profiling
- Experience with matching engines, order state management, or similar exchange infrastructure
- Experience with Rust or strong willingness to work in Rust
- Strong observability fundamentals, including metrics, logs, distributed traces, and profiling tools
- Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and systems design
- Experience with high-frequency or low-latency trading infrastructure is a plus
- Familiarity with Redis, PostgreSQL, gRPC, and Protobuf is a plus
- Kubernetes and AWS production operations experience is a plus
