Responsibilities
- Own proxy-service features across design, implementation, review, deployment, and production operation.
- Extend ingress-proxy security controls to support traffic from AI agents as well as human users.
- Optimize latency and throughput in highly concurrent networked applications using profiling and efficient asynchronous programming.
- Modernize legacy systems through staged traffic migrations while they remain in production.
- Apply threat modeling, vulnerability mitigation, data-integrity practices, fuzzing, property-based testing, and integration testing.
- Make and communicate architectural decisions, collaborate across teams, and share secure software-development practices.
- Use LLMs selectively to improve productivity while evaluating their outputs for correctness, maintainability, and architectural fit.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building and operating production systems.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining production systems in Rust or Go; Rust or Go experience is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of HTTP and TLS.
- Experience optimizing latency and throughput in networked applications.
- Experience building and operating asynchronous, high-concurrency services, including understanding backpressure, cancellation, and non-blocking I/O failure modes.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems through safe, staged production migrations.
- Experience with comprehensive testing strategies, including fuzzing, property-based testing, and integration tests.
- Ability to articulate architectural decisions, collaborate effectively, and apply secure software-development practices.
- Proficiency using LLMs thoughtfully and critically in engineering workflows.
