Base Salary

$167k - $270k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Set catalogue-wide technical direction for images and Helm charts.
  • Own complex packaging problems with upstream dynamics.
  • Author and maintain image definition files for OSS releases.
  • Adapt upstream Helm charts to work with DHI images.
  • Drive security hardening strategy across the catalogue.
  • Design and write Go-based integration test infrastructure.
  • Review peers' PRs and mentor other engineers.
  • Partner with product, security, and customer-facing teams.
  • Engage with upstream OSS communities on security issues.
  • Participate in the paid on-call rotation for incident response.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of backend engineering experience with production-grade systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Deep expertise in the container and Kubernetes ecosystem.
  • Mastery of YAML for designing conventions and structures.
  • Strong container security background and understanding of supply chain concepts.
  • Ability to design test infrastructure using Go.
  • Maintainer mindset with a focus on consistency and impact.
  • Strong technical judgment in ambiguous situations.
  • Track record of technical influence without authority.
  • Familiarity with GitHub-heavy open source workflows.
