Base Salary
$150k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and technical strategy for security logging and detection capabilities.
- Design, build, and improve logging pipelines and telemetry services across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
- Manage security telemetry collection, parsing, normalization, enrichment, routing, retention, and access patterns.
- Ensure the reliability, integrity, availability, and operational effectiveness of security data.
- Drive automation, engineering standards, documentation, and processes that improve scalability and platform resilience.
- Partner with Security Operations, Incident Response, Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, and software engineering teams to improve telemetry coverage and detection capabilities.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple initiatives and cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities to use AI-enabled technologies for security engineering workflows, telemetry analysis, reporting, and automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive experience in Security Engineering, Platform Engineering, Logging, Observability, Detection Engineering, or closely related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of security logging architectures and telemetry pipelines, including collection, transport, normalization, enrichment, storage, retention, and access.
- Experience building, operating, and scaling distributed systems or enterprise data pipelines.
- Experience collaborating with Security Operations, Threat Detection, Incident Response, or Security Analytics teams.
- Strong technical leadership and the ability to influence architecture and engineering decisions across multiple teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with AI-enabled tools, large-scale cloud-native infrastructure, observability platforms, or relevant Security, Cloud, or Software Engineering certifications is preferred.
