Base Salary
$145k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement control and actuation strategies for autonomous articulated trucks.
- Develop and test reliable, safety-critical software for highway driving.
- Characterize vehicle braking, steering, and acceleration behavior.
- Develop onboard and simulated motion prediction models.
- Specify software requirements and document their implementation.
- Apply degraded-operations capabilities for fail-safe driving.
- Collaborate with Planning, Hardware, Systems, and Infrastructure teams on vehicle control architecture.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience developing production-level vehicular controls software.
- Production-level C++ software development experience.
- Strong background in robotics, controls, and mathematics.
- Experience developing, testing, and tuning controllers for autonomous robots, ideally trucks, cars, or flying vehicles.
- Focus on vehicle safety.
- Preferred experience includes robotic-system characterization, modeling and simulation; control theory and stability analysis; CAN or Ethernet interfacing; resource-constrained embedded systems and real-time operating systems; safety-critical software; formal verification; requirements writing; systems engineering; Python; and MATLAB/Simulink.
